Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

When downloading a word document from g-mail, I clicked "do this automatically
from now on" to view the document in word. However, it does not work; However,
the "What should firefox do with this file" still appears.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.download a word document
2.click the "Do this automatically from now on"
3.try opening a word document again

Actual Results:
It showed the "What should firefox do with this file"

Expected Results:
It should skip the last step and just open the word document
I'm having the same problem, with Torrent files. They are configured to be
opened with Azureus, and I checked the "do it automatically" box. However, the
box keeps appearing.
I can confirm this for Firefox 1.0 in Linux for (at least) PDF files.
I think this is a duplicate of bug 236541
