In my Thunderbird 1.0 in Brazillian Portuguese, when a message has many
attachments the list of them may be so big that the body of the message can't be
well seen. For comparison, the mozilla mail shows the list of attachments in a
small window with a scroll bar at right. Thus, one can see all the list of
attached files by scrolling up and down. The body of the message is shown in a
well sized windom.

I suggest that Thunderbird shows the list of attached files like mozilla-mail
does and not take the area of the message to show all the attachments at once.

Attachment: Large number of attachments shrinks the message pane

I too have the problem of a large number of attachments shrinking the message
view pane.  In my case, I receive a large number of posts from a mailing list
bundled into one post. Each post from the list is sent as an attachment to the
bundled mail. I can read through the attachments one at a time but it is easier
to view them inline all at once (Thunderbird can do that nicely now).
