276416 - User ID's and Passwords Not Saved

User ID's and passwords are not being saved and I do not receive the dialogue 
from the Norton Password Manager asking to save the information. Passwords have 
been import from IE and work when using the IE browser.
Please advise.

Do you mean that the Firefox password Manager doesn't work or that the norton
password Manager doesn't work ?

I have requested the status of this bug several times and have not received 
any response. I will not use Firefox until the password magr problem is 
resolved.

Do you want Norton Password Manager (NPM) to work with Firefox? If so this a
problem with NPM, not a Firefox problem. See page 61 of the NPM manual
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/npm/npm_2004_info_man.html 

"I’m using Netscape (or Opera) and my productwon’t work. Norton Password Manager
works with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.01 SP2 and later only."

Firefox is in the Netscape family of browsers.

If you are having an issue with the Firefox password manager at a specific web
pages then please list the url.

Received an email from user, inserting in bug.

See my response to your recommendations:
1. I would like for NPW Manager to work with Firefox. Should I contact Norton
for recommendations? I am running IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_SP2 so, per the NPM
manual statement, NPW Manager should work with Firefox . Also, I am confused
about the statement that Firefox is in the Netscape family. I thought the
product was suppose to replace IE?
 
2. Firefox PW Manager has issue with all urls, i.e., my.yahoo.com,
https://www.indymacmortgage.com. etc.

1. If you have any issues in the future please start with a post the mozillazine
Firefox support forums http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38.

2. Please do not email people directly bugzilla is a collaborative system. By
making another comment in the bug anyone can respond, with an email only the
person who you emailed can respond. Most people do not read the bug emails that
they get.

Norton will tell you that they designed NPM to work with IE ONLY. The only thing
you could do is to ask them to make future versions of NPM support Firefox.

Firefox is a replacement for IE they both can be used to browse the internet.
There are two major types of internet browsers, IE and Netscape. I said "Firefox
is in the Netscape family of browsers" because Firefox shares a lot internally
with Netscape. Firefox shares nothing internally with IE, so therefore the NPM
will not work Firefox.

third party tool ?
