Hello,

I was browsing from a link in http://pensadoresbrasileiros.home.comcast.net/
pointing to http://aletraescarlate.blig.ig.com.br/inicial.html
and the browser froze up.

I then fired up Visual Studio's debug and noticed the cpu was trapped in the
following loop:

Point A:

00627FF6 8B 4B 28 mov ecx,dword ptr [ebx+28h]
00627FF9 8B 43 08 mov eax,dword ptr [ebx+8]
00627FFC C1 E9 0C shr ecx,0Ch
00627FFF EB 0A jmp 0062800B
00628001 3B C6 cmp eax,esi
00628003 74 12 je 00628017
00628005 89 45 F4 mov dword ptr [ebp-0Ch],eax
00628008 8B 40 20 mov eax,dword ptr [eax+20h]
0062800B 49 dec ecx
0062800C 79 F3 jns 00628001
0062800E 8B 1B mov ebx,dword ptr [ebx]
00628010 8D 47 38 lea eax,[edi+38h]
00628013 3B D8 cmp ebx,eax
00628015 75 DF jne 00627FF6

at this point it went back to point A.

Then I forced it to proceed to the code below instead of executing jne 00627FF6
and I was able to regain control of the browser and close it.

00628017 8D 47 38 lea eax,[edi+38h]
0062801A 3B D8 cmp ebx,eax
0062801C 75 0A jne 00628028
0062801E B8 05 40 00 80 mov eax,80004005h
00628023 E9 76 01 00 00 jmp 0062819E
00628028 8D 47 38 lea eax,[edi+38h]
0062802B 3B D8 cmp ebx,eax
0062802D 89 45 F0 mov dword ptr [ebp-10h],eax
00628030 0F 84 2E 01 00 00 je 00628164

After that, I was able to switch to any of the other tabs I had open (about 5)
except the one that triggered the problem. It did not browse anymore or respond
to other commands such as bookmark/save page, so I closed the browser.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Fernando
According to http://web-sniffer.net/
The page http://aletraescarlate.blig.ig.com.br/index.html is compressed with
Gzip and is about 5.7MB once uncompressed, it could explain why Firefox locks up
for a few seconds before displaying the page.
Once loaded, the page displays fine and works ok.
