User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux ppc; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041230 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux ppc; en-US; rv:1.8a5) Gecko/20041230 A caret is sometimes blinking in the URL bar, though it doesn't have the focus. So, there are sometimes two carets: one in the URL bar and one in a form. This bug has been there for months, but I haven't found a way to reproduce it. I think it appears after a tab operation (like switching or closing tabs). Also, I don't remember having found any spurious caret anywhere else. This seems to be specific to the URL bar. Reproducible: Sometimes
Is this an issue in 1.8a6 or a current trunk build?
I haven't seen it with a more recent version (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050114, coming from a trunk CVS checkout), but as I don't know what the cause of the bug is, this doesn't mean that the bug is fixed.
Similar to bug 280875, except I have never seen this happen before 20050111, and have it happen regularly now, with no other circumstances whatsoever changed (which is why I labeled that a regression).
The bug hast just occurred with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050114.

I noticed this problem with Firefox (Debian package mozilla-firefox 1.0.2-3). The Product should probably be changed to Core.
Moving to Core, since the problem occurs with both Mozilla and Firefox.
Component: XP Apps: GUI Features → XP Toolkit/Widgets
Product: Mozilla Application Suite → Core
Setting OS to All since the problem is not specific to Linux. I get the same problem under Mac OS X.
