RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 180239

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: version 1.0 (20041206) (w2k)

In the Message Filters dialog (Tools | Message Filters)
Select multiple filters and run on a single subfolder (blog folder in my case)
Fails to run all selected filters. Selecting each filter individually and
running it does work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. subscribe to a job blog, say on craiglist
2. create a rule to delete completely uninteresting job title, say therapist
3. create a rule to delete currently uninteresting job title, say administrator
4. select both rules
5. select the job blog folder in the "Run serlected filter(s) on" drop list.
6. Click "Run Now"

Actual Results:
One rule ran, one did not: Message that matched first rule was deleted, message
that matched second rule did not.

Expected Results:
Both rules run, messages that match either rule is deleted.

Alternative resolution: If running multiple selected filters is not intended to
work (because it is not clear what happens if filters have conflicting actions),
then
 - should not be possible to select multiple filters and
 - the text should be singular "Run selected filter" not "filter(s)".
I have also noticed this. I also find if the first chosen rule finds no
messages to filter, the second filter does not either (or just does not run).
Even though the 2nd rule would have found messages. Because if the second rule
is run by itself, it finds and filters the applicable messages correctly.

From this, I am guessing that a rule that finds no messages blocks subsequent
rules from running.
This is very similar to the bug I came here (almost 2 hours ago - ack) to report

After seeing this bug written this way and with the added comment, I did another bit of testing... For the last half hour I've tried permutations of selecting 3 or 4 different filters in different orders, and/or with a blocking filter in the list.. And it seems to come down to one fact:

It simply only runs the top filter of any selected list of filters.

I'm using Thunderbird v1.5.0.4 on Windows XP SP2
I can confirm this bug for SeaMonkey (various builds) as well.
