I just noticed that the latest trunk-version identifies itself as "version 0.6+
(20041230)", and still has the old 'button' icon. This can't be right. The
download server tells me that that it was thunderbird-mac-MachO.dmg.gz, build on
30-Dec-2004 15:25.

Everything seems to be ok, it has the correct 1.0 theme and I can save searches
for example. I don't know how long it's like this, my last trunk-version that I
downloaded was about 3 weeks old (just after the merge I think), and was ok.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.2.8
yep, the flaming goose appears in the desktop icon, start page and about window.
Severity: trivial → minor
interesting observation in Linux trunk build (well, from 2004112205-trunk): the
flaming goose isn't there, but the 0.6+ version string is still an issue.
(noticed while trying to find the regression window for bug 276918.)
Flags: blocking-aviary1.1?
with today's linux trunk build, the flaming goose is no longer present.

Hi all,

I really want to use/test the trunk builds.

One detail though, could someone change the version number to 1.0 or 1.0+ so
some of my extensions still work !

Thanks and keep up the good work,

Ritchie

on Mac OS X, the bug is still here

The About Box of todays trunk claims it's "version 0.6+ (20050126)"
*** Bug 280305 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
The wrong version string is preventing Theme/Extension installation of anything
not 0.6 compatible.

upgrading severity. Since Tbird smoketests require Theme and Extension
Installing, this should be a smoketest blocker. But a workaround is to find a
0/6 compatible Theme; ie. 708090-lite

removing blocking-aviary 1.1 request. The version will be updated for 1.1 as
part of the release process, if it isn't changed to 1.0+ before then.

cmp, do you wanna take this one from mscott?

The version string is staying at 0.6 until the trunk builds have the same
functionality as the 1.0 builds. See my threads on the build forums where I've
explained this for more info...

We still have a lot of things to port from the 1.0 release back to the trunk
before it can be considered an improvement over 1.0.

Note that the icon is now also correct in version 0.6+ (20050201) on Mac OS X
10.2.8 : it show the homing pigeon, not the flaming goose.
i fixed the icon yesterday. The build machine wasn't being made with official
branding....
Summary: wrong version and icon on latest trunk → wrong version on latest trunk
The Mac application icon is fixed now, but I've still got a flaming goose in the about box and 'Wecome
to Mozilla Thunderbird' background in version 0.6+ (20050210) / Mac OS X 10.3.7.

The newer pigeon images show in the same dated build for Linux.
using 2005060606-trunk on Mac OS X 10.4.1, I see 1.0+ in Thunderbird's About dialog.

the application icon is back to the nifty homing pigeon, and the default start
page no longer displays the flaming goose.

if there aren't remaining issues for this bug, I can mark this w4m.
marking w4m, unless others somehow see this with recent trunk builds.
