While using http://bugzilla.kernel.org/, I noticed that if you edit an
attachment, the 'comment' textarea is blank, when it shouldn't be.

As this isn't the latest version of Bugzilla, this may already be fixed.
Why shouldn't it be?

This field was blank again
That's an additional comment box, where you can add new comments and have it
noted that the comment is related to that attachment. The comment you made when
you added the attachment is added to the bug itself. All of the comments are
still displayed in the bug comments.

Ok, I think I misunderstood how Bugzilla works.

The 'edit attachment' screen seems to imply that it is editing the data that was
entered the first time. That is only half right; the attachment is being
edited, but the comment is not, because no comment can ever be edited; only new
ones added.

It might be an idea to make the edit attachment screen say that.

Thanks!
Or perhaps call it "managing" the attachment. Or clarify that when you enter a
comment while attaching a file, you're additionally entering a comment, and the
comment isn't otherwise connected to the file.
