I use Yahoo for my home page. With the internet explorer I was able to disble Macromedia Flash with spywareblaster. With Fire Fox I cant. When you select any news article , The advertisement at the top or sides Flash and is extremely annoying. I tried The disable pictures options and only enable pictures from originating website option but pictures I want to see are disabled and today the advertisements kept flashing. I hear its causes seizures for some people. For me its distracting. The problem is that some websites require Flash to view So I dont want to uninstall it. I just installed Firefox not too long ago. Maybe a week ago. It would be nice if your browser had a check box that would disable Macromedia Flash and re enable it. In the mean time I have to manually disable it by changing the file called : Flash.ocx to Flash.zap wich worked. I just figured it out a few minutes ago and havent changed it back to Flash.ocx but Im sure it will work if I do. Would it be feasable to install a Macromedia Flash kill switch for us people who get extremely distracted by flashing Advertisements?

You can use the adblock extension to do just that. It is available at http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=774 . This is sort of a combination duplicate of bug 229196 and bug 94035. Duping to the former. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 229196 ***

There's also an extension at http://flashblock.mozdev.org/ which you may find useful.
