When you are downloading a theme and you don't want to finish installing it I
simple clicked "UnInstall". It disappeared off the manager. Shortly later, when
I was downloading another theme it popped up as done.

As such, we have concluded that when downloading a theme and you click
"Uninstall" it simply goes off the view but still downloads/installs in the
backend of Firefox.
Really, we should have a means to cancel the download, and the various buttons
shouldn't be enabled while the download is in progress.  Don't have time atm to
search for dupes, if none found this should be confirmed.

This is now WFM in regards to disabling buttons while downloading for both
extensions and themes. This was fixed by the patch in bug 292619.
