I have version 1.7.5, but the problem also was on 1.7.3. I have 2 mail folders that when 'clicked' on lockup up Mozilla. It seems as there is a corrupted link somewhere. There is nothing in those folders. It won't let me delete the folders either. They are called 'Bills' and 'MyBills'. How can I delete these folders and/or correct the problem? Thanks.
Shutdown Mozilla. Go with the explorer to your Mozilla profile (it should be in c:\documents and settings\WIN-USERNAME\Application data\mozilla\profiles\xxxxxxx.slt for an English W2K, make sure you activate the option "show hidden files/folders") in the mail subdirectory. Look for the files 'Mybills' and 'Mybills.msf' (for a top-level account) or for a directory 'Mybills.sbd' (for a subfolder of e.g. Inbox) and delete the files/folder. Does it help?

(In reply to comment #1) I deleted those files as per your instructions, but when I recreate subfolders Bills or MyBills, it still hangs up when entering those subfolders. It looks as though those folders are created differently in the directory structure than other names due to some malfunction in the mail folder creation process. For example, I notice when a normal new mail folder ('xxxx') is created under Mozilla, two files get created, 'xxxx' and 'xxxx.msf'. When I create new folders 'Bills' or 'MyBills', I get the files Bills.msf and MyBills.msf, but instead of a created file named Bills and MyBills, a folder gets created. It seems when this folder gets created instead of just a file, the hanging problem exists.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
