There is no way to save a file as ".htm"!!!
You can enter an arbitrary name into the Save dialog. Doesn't this work for you?
Yes, but it is awful tedious to type ".htm" over and over -- why can't I make .htm the default?
Why make it the default :)? The .htm extension was only a workaround for old operation systems that don't support four letters as extension and those OSes are almost not used anymore.
cuz .htm is shorter and thats what my site uses. if 8 billion users type .html, that is 8 billion extra ls -- why would anybody want to type all those ls?
Ok, turning this into an enhancement request then, because you already can save with the .htm extension, there is just no way to make it the default. I agree with Frank that 8+3 file names are ancient and the file format is really called HTML, not HTM. But on the other hand many people still use .htm nonetheless.
