Details

I have disabled the quicktime plugin but Firefox keeps using it for some reason.
I have tried to uninstall quicktime and reinstall then disable and it still
won't work. I hate quicktime, it should be called slowtime.

Also when I go to various sites it showes the download plugin Icon and when I
click on it... Firefox says that no suitable plugins could be found or something.
how did you disable it?

Please don't take the easy way out and tell people that this is a duplicate bug.
You make people have to read through over 150 posts... Why? Please just try
and help. It's not really a bug, just tell me how to disable the quicktime
plugin and use my mplayer2 too open .mpg and mpeg. files.

There has to be another area within the firefox program that is allowing it to
override my settings under tools/options/plugins.

This bug is a duplicate. If not of that one, then of bug 229196. There is
currently no way to disable a plugin for embedded content in Firefox/Mozilla.
