When performing a new install of Mozilla Thunderbird, it's mundane to have to
configure the same view preferences for each of my many IMAP mail folders.
I need to enter the view menu twice for each folder!
View->Sort By->Threaded
View->Sort By->Descending

It should be possible to set view preferences for multiple folders somehow.
This could be that all non-special folders (i.e. those not Sent, Trash, etc.)
are all affected by a view change (probably the simplest and most logical
option). There could also be a global preference under the preference dialog.
It might also be an option to define views (as Novell Evolution does) and select
which view each folder should use. This would give a single point of control
should I later wish to modify my view preferences.
Is everybody else just accepting the default views? Surely this is of interest
to someone?
This is Bug #86845 / Bug #175502 with the extra suggestion of savable views...

David could we nominate this as wanted-tb3?
Flags: wanted-thunderbird3?
Figuring out a way of handling different kinds of views is a great idea, but I don't have a clue what the UI should be. Maybe Bryan has some ideas.
