Hi, I am using the Mozila 1.7.5 talkback agent and is said that http://taklback.mozilla.org can not be found. I can not browse to is eaither using Mozilla or any other browser. It sounds like the taklback server is not working. Ways to reproduce: 1. Crash Mozilla 1.7 2. Use the talkback agent to send the report. 3. Send the report. 4. See that error that I have above. 5. It fails. 6. Now open A web browser to http://taklback.mozill.org 7. Notice that it refuses connections. It can be reproduced everytime. It is a bug that needs to be fixed.

The correct address for the web interface is talkback-public.mozilla.org .

*** Bug 277085 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Hi, Lets use this bug report to track this. I am sorry for the dupe. And I was meaning http://talkback.mozilla.org not http://taklback.mozilla.org .

Is it working now? I get a Netscape Enterprise Server test page when I visit that URL now. (which is probably okay, I'm sure the real talkback stuff uses some obscure URL to get to it)

Bryan: Have you ever been able to submit a Talkback incident? Are you behind a proxy? Dialup or broadband? This is a known issue that we are currently unable to fix because we don't have access to the Talkback source code. See the "official" bug for these kinds of problems: bug 210251 If you filled in an email address when you sent it, I can look it up. Or if you remember your user comments, you can try querying for them at http://talkback-public.mozilla.org .

And http://talkback.mozilla.org is not a website, it's just the url the client points to so that the server at that address can redirect the incidents to the Talkback processing server.

http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/talkback/fastfind.jsp The Talkback Servers are all in good health. You should be able to submit incidents and run queries without any problems. :-) That´s a big lie. Use Fastfind to find 4444444: http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/talkback/fastfind.jsp?search=2&type=iid&id=4444444 No entry for Incident ID: 4444445 (it does not exist, the id is too big) The most recent incident id submitted is 2977145. Now you can look at some real IDs, 2977143 has the youngest trigger time http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/talkback/fastfind.jsp?search=2&type=iid&id=+2977143 Trigger Time 2005-01-07 10:23:07.0 So talkback server doesn´t accept reports starting sometime Jan, 7th up to now.

Just wanted to add that I seem to be having the same problem... unfortunately I didn't put my email on the bug... so I can't have someone look to see if it's gone through. I can access the web interface, but my report still isn't going through. I'm on broadband with no proxy server.

Bryan: If you could try submitting a few more incidents and make sure to fill in your email address or a unique comment that we can query, I can see if your incidents are being stored in the db (although you might be seeing the server error, as discussed in bug 210251). If your incidents are going through somehow, at least we will know your data is being sent, but in terms of the Talkback server errors, as I said before, we don't have access to the code to fix any bugs at this time. FYI: We had some problems with the Talkback servers over the weekend and many people were having problems submitting incidents (talkback.mozilla.org was down). But everything is up now and those that have been able to submit crashes in the past should be able to do so now as well. For people like Bryan that claim they have never been able to send a report, we'll have to keep digging to see what we can figure out about the problem and see if there is any workaround.

Hi, Found the problem. My isp has consiedered the taklback servers at mozilla.org to be a sceurity issue so they blocked it form sending reports. I called them on this.

Bryan: How did you come to the conclusion that it was the ISP blocking Talkback? You experience will be helpful to others, so let us know any specific steps you took to figure out what was happening with your setup...and the name of your ISP (if you don't mind). Thank you for looking into this.
