Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050103 Firefox/1.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050103 Firefox/1.0+

Symptoms: When I click OK in the Print dialog box, no printing occurs. If I try
to select Print again, I get an error box that say (title) "Printer Error" and
(text) "Not Available." This continues until I exit and restart Mozilla. In some
cases an attempt to load a new page after this error yields a message which says
that Mozilla cannot load a new page while it is printing.

The problem is recurrent but not consistently reproducible. Last night I was
unable to avoid it when printing pages from my PayPal account history; this
morning that works. A few minutes ago it occurred when I tried to print the page
at http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?title=PDF; on retry, that worked.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select Edit/Print.
2. Click OK.
3. If no printing occurs, select Edit/Print again to reproduce the problem.

Selecting text before step 1 and clicking "Selection" in the Print dialog box
seems to increase the probability of observing the problem, at least with some
web pages.

Actual Results:
"Not Available" error, as described in Details.

Expected Results:
See Details.
Are you using a zip build, or installer.
Installer builds have bug 274903 - Can't print using installer builds [Win]
via PM from Jonathan:
>Hey, where IS the zip build? I remember seeing it when I downloaded my original
>copy, but I can't find it any more. All of the "Download" links I tried just
>open a dialog box for downloading the EXE file.

In the same directory as where you found the .exe
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
I am having the same issue.
FireFox 1.0.2,WindowsXP and on Tablet PC.

If I select "Print" from the menu, nothing prints. If I select "Print Preview"
the preview comes up and it will print from there by pressing the print button,
but only ONCE.
If I select "Print Preview" again, it does not appear and if I select "Print", a
dialog box appears with the text "Printer Unavailable".

While this is happening, I can print from any other application, including
printing the exact same page in IE(ugh)...

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
