Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425

My bookmarks have vanished four times. The first time, all it did was switch
profiles by itself, so I got them back. But the other three times I haven't been
able to. The computer and Mozilla were working perfectly and I did not do
anything strange or out of the ordinary before it happened. The most recent
time, I re-organized them, but that should not make them disappear. The
bookmarks are always there until I shut the computer down and then start it back
up again the next day or two days later.
There has been no pattern to the times they have disappeared.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Shut computer down
2. Turn it on again

Actual Results:
Sometimes my bookmarks completely disappear. Sometimes there's an Imported IE
folder, sometimes there's not.

Expected Results:
All my bookmarks should be there.
Your Mozilla version seems quite old. How about upgrading it first?
Did you close Mozilla completely before you shutdown your WinXP safely?

Yeah, please upgrade to Mozilla 1.7.5. With such an old version this bug report
is in fact INVALID.

Yes, I did shut it down safely. And are you suggesting that because I have an
older version of Mozilla that a problem in the software is excusable? If I had
this problem with Mozilla 1.7.5, I think this technical error would not be
considered "invalid". Apart from this one glitch in my version of Mozilla it
works quite fine, and this problem is nothing more than terribly inconvenient. I
would deeply appreciate it if you thought about voicing your opinions before
actually doing so.

Not excusable, but no-one cares about not maintained/unsupported
branches/versions. For Mozilla Suite, only the 1.7 branch and the trunk (1.8
builds) are currently further developed.

I don't mean the problem per se is invalid, only this report about this issue in
1.3.1 is invalid except you can reproduce it with 1.7.5 or a trunk build. Were
are still existing bookmark bugs in Moz1.7.5, but believe me, the situation has
improved a lot since 1.3.1. So please upgrade, you can only profit from that.
So report back with a newer version...
