277195 - Prefs, bookmarks, extentions, and themes not saved.

1. When I download extensions and themes, it says this willo be installed after
you restart the browser, i do, and the themes and extensions are not there.
2. When I add a bookmark to the bookmarks area, the Bookmark this Page Comes up,
and when i click on OK to add bookmark, the window doesn't close, but it will be
under the bookmarks folder. If I click OK multiple time, it will be listed
multiple times under Bookmarks. But the after i restart firefox the bookmarks
are not there.
3. After I change my preferences under Tools>Options, it says: Failed to save
the preferences file. All preference changes will be lost at the end of this
session.

I read other bugs where nothing was being save such as passwords and stuff, but
for me passwords, forms, history, cookies and cache are saved. I am not sure
about the downloads. 

This has been that way ever since I installed firefox on my new laptop. 

I know that this isn't witten in the format I see others in, but I am not sure
how to set it up like that.

This almost certainly isn't a software bug, its consistent with Firefox being
unable to write to the profile.

Things to check for:

Make sure your profile is not read-only.  If you copied your old profile from a
CD, note that files/folders copied from CD-ROM are already read-only.

Make sure that if your profile is on a network drive, that you can access the
path  consistently.
