I think Minimo actually runs on a version of Linux on a PocketPC at the moment,
so that is once candidate to use the "PocketPC" platform.

I'm also interested in porting Minimo to Windows Mobile 2003 (WinCE), so it
would be useful to have WinCE as an OS to distinguish from Minimo running on
Linux/PalmOS etc.

We don't have a way to do it per-product yet...  without code changes, they'd
have to be global.

I think this should target WINCE 2002 as well, as there are still a lot of
machines out there, mine included, that run it.

note that bugs relating to wince can easily belong in core:widget/win, so even if we could setup per 
product platforms, it does not make sense here.

that said, i think i object to the current proposal.

afaik PocketPC includes a number of hardware variations ARM, MIPS, SH3, XScale. Bugs probably are 
going to be reported against one of those variations and can quite easily not apply to some other.

similarly, there are 4 or 5 versions of windows for embedded systems each with their own quirks. if 
we're going to add them (and by we, i mean me, i *own* this code), i think the list should reflect the 
actual hardware platforms and os versions. would someone please provide a list of the ones that 
matter?

dougt: does your minimo useragent reflect this info (it helps for plugins and other stuff)

we aren't going to enumerate every single software version and hardware type
that wince comes in.  Adding PPC and WinCE will give us what we need -- a
distinction from the other OS's good enough to query on.

We've got a GUI editor for these values that doesn't have scary side effects when you change them now. :)  (picked up with last night's upgrade)
