the pop-up blocker does not prevent this site-www.smashits.com  from firefox 1.0
when you go to indianexpress.com and click a news, this pop-up comes, but cannot
be stopped by blcoker inspite of adding in block (exception) list. It is sporadic

Oops, that was Adblock working for me.
I can confirm the popups
WFM, I got blocked popups, on a current CVS build.  However, I did get one popup
that was loaded when I clicked on a link, which is valid and considered
user-initiated.
Yep user initiated allright.
