I tried to download an extension, and it didn't work for it. I am just concerned about my privacy so I don't want other people to see my bookmarks. Is there anyway you can give me an extension that works so that the bookmarks close automatically? I would really like that. Other people don't like this as well. Is there a regedit option to change it also? Please email me if you can regarding this problem.
Please email me here asap: torently@yahoo.com if you solved this problem.
Another thing I don't like is that there is a bookmark history as well when you go up to the bookmark menu.

You mean for the menu to close if nothing is touched for X seconds? Right now there's no hidden prefs that do anything like that. I'm also not sure what you mean by bookmarks history. There's the Go menu, but that's just global history, and has nothing to do with bookmarks.
when dragging a bookmark from the bookmarks menu into another folder, the folders that opened dont close by themselves. the bookmark menu closes, but both the 1st folder and 2nd folder does not automatically close. only does it on the second open folder, ex moving a bookmark form the bookmark menu to "general" folder then to "new folder" general and new folder will not close, they stay open and on top the the firefox browser window. windows xp professional sp2 firefox ver 1.0.4 happens all the time wiht 2nd level moves

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

Comment 4 is different than comment 0. I *think* this is asking for the bookmarks manager to close when you open a bookmark. But given the lack of clarity in comment 0, closing as INCOMPLETE.

I am surprised to still get comments in email box about this problem. All I wanted was the bookmark folders to close automatically once I have saved a bookmark from the Internet. I want it similar to what Samuel Sidler, but only for the Bookmarks menu. I've had to add from Internet Explorer -- the favorites in the toolbar so I can get the same effect. For example I might have a folder called "books" and a sub folder called "sci fi books," "non-fiction books," or "amazon books." I might want to bookmark a page from Amazon books. So I open that SUB folder and save that web page there. But expect it to HIDE (that subfolder) next time I go to the toolbar and save a bookmark. And the only bookmarks that show are the "outside" or main folders. I also don't like how it leaves a "trail" whereby other people who use your computer know where you have gone with your folders or subfolders. If you use Internet Explorer or have the add-on extension with Firefox you'll know what I mean. I kept wondering why I got emails on this subject and din't know what it was all about because I haven't used Bugzilla for a long time. I assumed that people either ignored me or didn't know what I meant. If you know what I mean great, if not, well it's been such a long time, it probably doesn't matter.

So, it would be good if it was changed, but I first notified about the problem years ago. So it probably doesn't matter if I said. I'll just use the Internet Explorer extension if no one understands... Maybe I am bit petty on these things, can't help it. Just the way I am. Sorry people, didn't intend to ignore you all this time. I honestly didn't know people were still talking about it...
