There are people only interested in either extension or theme updates. So adding
an extension/theme icon or something like that in the most recent updates of the
new list on UMO would be a great enhancement to save time for visitors cause you
don't need to check _all_ entries any longer.

I actually discussed this with Daniel Burka (who did the graphic redesign), it
was his opinion, which I agree with that having icons would be clutter. 

Firefox/Thunderbird don't already provide an icon for items by type for users to
learn which means Update would be introducing a new element for users which they
wouldn't immediately recognize.
There are no header icons for switching applications now.  The footer icons are links.
