Details

V 1.7.5. The message count (notification window) says x new messages but they do
not appear in the inbox window.

By closing application (mail + browser) and reopening, then "get mail" they appear. 

Also, "get all messages" is not working: have to click on each account separately.
POP or IMAP mail?

Any extensions installed that might cause interference?

No. It's a clean install from the latest download (Thursday 6 Jan 2005)
