I have used Firefox for several months and it has been an answer to prayers.
Two days ago while on line with Firefox I got an error message "ALERT No XBL
binding for browser". I tried to do a virus check, trojan check all negative.
I uninstalled the program and then, having to us IE downloaded Firefox 1.0
again only to have the same message. I can not use it and I SURE don't want to
have to go back to Bill's IE. Please tell me how I can fix this and get back
on line with the best browser on the market. Thanks, Richard Jones
Though the page at http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html
does not specify it as necessary, it is often helpful to try a new profile
http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/noririty/help/bugs.html (which may solve the
problem) before seeking any advice. It is not clear whether you did this,
I would guess that you did as you have taken the trouble to download a fresh
copy. (You could have used wget or curl to do the download).

This one is pretty old now. I will close it unless someone can confirm it with
more specific information.
