- Thunderbird 1.0
- Only one plugin installed: Mozilla Calendar 0.8.2
- Outlook express contact list imported.

At the bottom of thunderbird main window, there is a tag code (XML?) in red font:

Looks like a broken extension.
I agree, it looks like a broken extension; but it could be a localization 
problem.  Pierre, are you running a language pack (e.g. French)?

Restart the program in Safe Mode; if the problem goes away, that verifies the 
problem is with the calendar, and you should mark this bug:   Resolved | Invalid
