I have just recently downloaded Mozilla Firefox and when i first tried to turn
on the "tabbed" option my window "twitches" up and down a minimal amuont. Ever
since, this has been happening randomly. I am running Windows XP Professional
2002 with service pack 2

Are you using the default Firefox theme? If not switch back to the default
theme. Does the issue still happen? 

Have you tried downloading the latest nighly from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ try a zip
build, so you can go back to the 1.0 installation, and creating a new profile
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new. 

Are you using a non-standard Windows theme, visiual style, or .msstyles? For
example using WindowBlinds, Style XP, Star Skin, Tune-Up, or uxtheme.dll
patches. If you are try switching back to the default windows theme.
