On the swedish-language webcommunity www.katastrof.nu, we run a discussion board, chat and
instant messenger service implemented in flash. Most of our members use a Swedish keyboard layout.
With IE, Safari and Opera this works smoothly, but with Firefox, characters are not entered properly in
the text boxes. Question marks become plus signs, quotation marks are inaccessible, the letter ä can't
be capitalized (Ä) and so on. This problem only ever comes up with Firefox, but is always experienced
by all of our Firefox-using members, on a variety of configurations of Windows and Mac machines. The
Flash/Firefox keyboard handler seems to understand that the keyboard layout is Swedish, as the letters
åäö are in the right places, but gets many characters wrong.
Please recheck this bug against a recent nightly build[1] to verify that the
behavior still exists and post the results here.

Also, please supply a testcase to help others verify this behavior.

Thanks.

I'm a webdeveloper and I have the same problem in my websites. I use flash in
many of them and when I type text in flash input text boxes, some of the
characters appears wrong nominated á (á), ã (ã) @, and many others.

I have tested with:
->Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006
Firefox/1.4.1
->Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pt-PT; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919
Firefox/1.0.7) and previous versions.

I'm the using portuguese layout. In Internet Explorer it works smoothly.
How about a testcase?

With no testcase, it's hard to verify this bug exists. If you can reproduce this bug using Firefox 2.0.0.3 or later using a recent version of Flash (version 9 right now) and with a new profile, please file a new bug and attach a testcase to it.

Using http://www.tizag.com/pics/flash/form1easy.swf this works for me.
