Whilst downloading a large IMAP message (that takes more than a few seconds), if
you quit TB, the application window closes but the process is still running. If
you try and open TB again, the window partly appears but does not fully - it
just hangs. This can only be resolved by manually terminating the process.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start downloadng large IMAP message
2. Quit application by clicking X top right corner
3. Process thunderbird.exe still running

Actual Results:
Window closed but process is still running

Expected Results:
The software should have completed terminated.

No actual crash. Windows XP Home SP2. Using standard theme.
Using version version 1.0 (20041206). May be related to #275521
Keywords: hang
Version: unspecified → 1.0
are you downloading over a slow connection? How long did you wait to see if the
process is terminated?
I'm downloading over broadband 512/256. I can wait indefinately - it doesn't
seem to ever terminate.
Attached image Screenshot of process
After doing the reproduction for
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275521#c3 this bug resurfaced. I
quit the application and the process was still running. I took a screenshot of
this.
This is no longer a problem. Was determined to be the fault of ZoneAlarm Firewall.
