I loaded ther latest nightly build of Firefox on 1/8/2005 Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050108 Firefox/1.0+ When I select any of the names in the personal bookmarks bar now, the name disappears leaving an arrow for folders, or a blank on single linked pages

I am using Firefox 1.0 and my personal bookmarks toolbar just changed to a set of arrows. I was able to bring it back by turning the toolbar off and then on again, but it seemed very strange. I have several tabs open: My Yahoo, my hotmail inbox, a syllabus for one of my classes (static content). I am not absolutely sure when it occurred- I let my computer go into sleep mode while I went to a meeting and had used the toolbar before the meeting and had used it after the meeting before it "minimized" (for lack of the technical term). Runing XP Home SP2 on an HP Pavilion Laptop.
Read following with reference to the attachments - 176147,176148. I have experienced the same problem. I have a few of folders in my personal tool bar and it 'usually' appears in a line laid out neatly (occupying say 60 - 75% of the available width). Sometimes it 'minimizes' itself to the double arrow (>>) at the left corner of the screen. I have noticed this happening sometimes when I open a new tab, but I don't see this happening often. This is on a Windows XP machine. I have a screen capture of it too. And usually when the tool bar shrinks, I resize the window and it reappears back fine.

I can confirm this behaviour on two different systems with Windows NT4 and Windows 2000 (latest patch level). It's independent from the version of Firefox - i can not remember when i saw this bug the first time. Maybe some 0.9.x? One of my systems is a multi-monitor system (2) and if FF is on the secondary monitor the previous mentioned resizing of the window doesn't fix this. But on the primary monitor resizing window fix that behaviour. Maybe this can help to find the bug!? Bug occurs randomly...

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I only recently began experiencing this bug. I'm using Firefox 1.0.7 on Win XP Pro SP2. Note that the toolbar redraws properly if you force a redraw by resizing the main window, changing something in the toolbar folder via the Manage Bookmarks window (adding or removing an item), etc.

Hardware Platform: PC Operating System: Windows XP SP2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060123 Firefox/1.5.0.1 Reproducibility: None. Summary: Bug could not be reproduced on the latest available build. Reproduction Steps: Loaded latest nightly build and then selected several personal bookmarks. Confirmed that they opened properly and that they remained on my toolbar. Added a few new bookmarks so that the toolbar was full, selected them, and confirmed they opened properly and remained on my toolbar. I then let the computer sit for 35 minutes where the computer entered sleep mode. When the computer was awoken I tested each bookmark to ensure it opened properly and remained on my toolbar. Analysis: It is possible that this bug exists, however more detailed information such as exactly what he user was doing when the bug occurred (i.e. did they just add a new bookmark), how many bookmarks were on the toolbar when the bug occurred, or actions used to rectify the bug if possible (i.e. forcing a redraw of the toolbar).

WFM. I added more folders than would fit on the toolbar, and the arrows show up on the right, as expected. I hid and un-hid the toolbar with no change. I clicked on all the folders, and they all opened and closed as expected. Deleting folders changed the toolbar as expected. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/2007051502 Firefox/2.0.0.4
