277901 - Highlighting text in Firefox does not behave like normal windows apps

When highlighting text, either in the URL bar, in a page, in the search bar, etc
you cannot change your highlighting selection, instead the text is dragged. In
normal windows applications the behaviour is to redo the highlight. This is
particularly annoying when you've highlighted a selection that's one character
off from what you wanted to highlight. Instead you must click to unselect
everything, and then redo your selection.

I suppose this could be considered a "feature", but I hope not. At the very
least a pref should exist to change this behaviour.

URL bar is actually a separate issue, bug 87410, but "everything, everywhere" is
a dup of bug 114862.

("Normal Windows application"? Ignoring that we're (mostly) cross-platform, my
normal Windows applications either don't allow dragging of selected text, or
they behave like we do or even worse.)
