User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr-FR; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr-FR; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 This happens on a normal & fresh Windows XP SP2 installation, on an IBM Thinkpad R31 256mb of RAM and a Dual Screen Intel 82830M Graphics Controller. I have the same problem with Thunderbird and "New messages in Local folders" notification. This do not happen on IBM Thinkpad T23, provided with A Savage 16mb video card. Neither any of my PC here. For instance, This do not happen with Windows Messenger notifications windows, on the Intel video card. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. I start firefox 2. I start any download with the download manager 3. When the download finishes, the notification window appear at the lower right corner of my screen. It become visible by scrolling up very fast from the bottom line of the screen. Actual Results: 4. The notification window does not disappear after 2 seconds. It stays foreground whatever the window I put over it. If I click on it, nothing happens. If I click on the link "All the downloads", it displays the download manager. 5. When I close FIREFOX, the notification window still stay visible. Firefox remains in the process list. 6. When I kill FIREFOX from the task list, the window finally disappear. Expected Results: 4. The notification window disappear after 2 seconds. 5. When I close FIREFOX, the process is removed from memory.

Running firefox on my laptop for 2 months now and still have the same problem. I'm still waiting for a checkbox or a config option somewhere to unactivate the notification. I've recently identified that when I disconnect battery, the notification disappear instantly! So it would be linked with the power manager??? I really wonder why. Window Handle conflict??
