User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I want to place a file to our simple Intranet page. The file is OpenOffice.org Calc (.sxc) and whether I do anything, the user's Firefox opens it in browser window instead of some correct Open With or Save As dialogue. I use "type="application/octet-stream" methods="get" etc. options inside of <A HREF> tag, but no effect. Reproducible: Always
The file is in the first row of tab, under the link called "prepocet dane". You can test it by any OpenOffice.org .sxc file renamed to prepocet_dane_1.sxc, so I don't post it (I cannot either).

(In reply to comment #0) > I use "type="application/octet-stream" methods="get" etc. options inside of <A > HREF> tag, but no effect. > That doesn't work. The MIME-tag of the *server* has priority. You'll have to talk to the administrator of your webserver to map *.sxc to application/octet-stream.
Hi, I'm a webmaster too, so I have edited /etc/apache/mime.types and the desired line is now application/octet-stream bin sxc sxw sxi I have restarted apache, but nothing changes. Firefox still opens the file in window.

Use the full url in the href to the OO document. No it tries to find the document at bugzilla
Peter, the file is not publicly accessible from Internet. The page is internal Intranet page, so if You want to test it, U have to download the html file, create directory "download" near him and place some "prepocet_dane_1.sxc" file into.

In that case we can't check the problem , can we ? INVA ?
just attach a sample .xsc, then attach a modified version of your html document which points to the sample .xsc attachment's url.
Hm, strange. After a few hours and restart, some PCs act normally: 1. Linux, Firefox 1.0 -behaves normally now 2. W98, Firefox 0.9.3 -didn't try before, it works. Even with Mozilla Suite. 3. W2k, Mozilla 1.7.3 -works normally. Firefox 1.0PR is wrong, even after restart. I uninstalled 1.0PR and installed 0.9.3 -works now. Interesting, ins't?

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
