Annoying popup with message
"A script on this page is causing Mozilla to run slowly if it continues to run
your computer may computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the
script?"
comes up every few seconds to remind me that is running slow script. I think one
reminder is enough, make this accessible as user-setting otherwise Firefox
becomes unusable for larger scripts!
Example: attached as zip -> open datatransfer.FileExport.htm
Version:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
May be similar to issue 260392
1. extract zip file with path option
2. load file datatransfer.FileExport.htm
3. wait a while (until page is loaded completly)
4. select 'none' inside listbox selection -> all checkboxes beside the tree
will be deselected
5. select 'Test1' inside listbox selection -> all files beside the listbox
should be selected, but the 'script runs slow' occures every few second and
blocks script-execution

It crashes/immobilises IE so obviously something doesn't work right.
However, this is bugzilla, not a html forum.
I suggest you try to get some help on forums.

I sometimes run a script that takes up to a minute, and I agree that it's
annoying to have to keep dismissing that dialog to allow the script to make
progress.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Bug 230909 added a checkbox for disabling the dialog. There's also a bug
somewhere about making JavaScript threaded better (like in some older versions
of Opera) so that this dialog isn't necessary.
