SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:

I run Slackware 10 with kernel 2.6.7 on a 3 GHz Pentium 4 machine (hyper
threading =D) with 1 GB of memory. The version of Firefox I am using, and have
found the following bug within, is version 1.0 - downloaded soon after the
public announcement of its release. I have been unable to find a newer release,
and I am assuming that version 1.0 is still the latest release built.

ACTIONS WHICH PRODUCE BUG OCCURENCE:
------------------------------------
After creating a folder within the bookmark toolbar folder (Right clicked on
bookmark toolbar, clicked "New Folder..."), I right clicked on the newly-created
folder and then clicked on "Manage Folder" to add a bookmark. Once the folder
managing window popped up, I clicked on the "New Bookmark" button (to add a
bookmark) and, once OK was clicked, the new bookmark was added to the ROOT
BOOKMARK FOLDER, not the selected folder - the selected folder remained empty.

IMPORTANT SPECIFICS:
--------------------
This bug only appears when the specified folder is EMPTY. If the folder contains
one or more bookmarks, the new bookmarks are added properly by the "New
Bookmark" button in the "Manage Folder" window. For all EMPTY folders managed by
this method, all new bookmarks are placed in the root bookmark folder! It is
worth noting, that when the folder is not empty, the first bookmark within the
folder is automatically selected. Empty folders have, obviously, no bookmarks
within them to be selected, and I assume that this may have something to do with
the origin of this bug.

sorry for bugspam, long-overdue mass reassign of ancient QA contact bugs, filter on "beltznerLovesGoats" to get rid of this mass change
