Every morning I open my e-mail to a number of "log" messages. Some of them I'm
not interested in and simply hit delete. What I've found is that I can click in
the message index on the first of a series of messages that I want to delete and
start clicking the delete button. After each delete, T-bird moves to next
message and starts loading it in the preview pane. I find that after a few of
these, I can't click Delete anymore because focus has been lost in the index window.

I'm guessing that the problem happens when the preview window is loading a
particularly large log file and I delete it while it's still loading.

This is a bit irritating and is probably related to the decoupling discussed in
bug #264951

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264951
I should note that I *can* delete further messages, what I'm whining about is
having to suddenly move back to the index window, select a message, and then I'm
able to delete messages until focus is lost again.

I'd like to confirm I can reproduce this exact same bug with thunderbird version
1.0 (20041206) running on windows XP
Still present in 1.0.2 (20050317) on XP.
This is also a dupe of bug 268098 (which has been confirmed).
Agreed on the dupe. It's not actually a loss of focus, it's a loss of selection
-- you can press an arrow key and select another message.
