Details
I got my hands on a Mac for a few days, and I quickly installed Firefox on it.
But I found some problems quickly too...
As it happens, some plugins ignore the existence of tabs, and show their
contents regardless of the tab being on top or hidden. At least "Java" and
"Windows Media Player:mac" exibit this behavior.
On Safari (using tabs) this doesn't happen.
To reproduce this, just point Firefox at
"http://glenn.sanson.free.fr/fb/play.html" and let the applet load. Then open a
new tab (blank or with some page) and select it. You'll see that the applet
doesn't get hidden like it should, instead it shows right in the middle of the
selected tab.
This happens on MacOS X 10.3 (Panther), fully updated.
