seen on Mac Mozilla and Firefox trunk builds 2005-01-12

first discovered at www.apple.com on a product customization page.
If the combobox has style="width" defined the a grey box remains after an item
is selected.

testcase to follow 
-select an item in the first combobox of the test case

notice the grey box/background that is left behind. Scroll the page or switch
tabs , but the grey box remains. To close the grey box, select the combobox drop
down arrow twice.

the second combobox shows expected behavior.  It lacks style="width"

I'll track down the regression window on this.  It worked in Fx 1.0
