User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041220 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041220 General question - have downloaded several nightlies since start of the ytear and each one installs showing date - 2004-12-20. Is this as glitch or have there really been no changes since December 20, 2004? Just curious. Thanks ! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.download 2.install 3.date always 12/20/2004
I cannot confirm this. I regularly download nightlies and I have always different build IDs. From which location do you download? Which URL exactly? Installer or zip builds?
Version: unspecified → Trunk
I saw this for the first time today. The download was using the "Mozilla Suite: Windows" link under Nightly builds on the Developer Central page <http://www.mozilla.org/developer/>. The download link itself is: <http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-win32-installer.exe>

I can confirm, that there is something wrong with the Round-Robin-FTP-Servers. Some? or one of them was not updated since 2004-12-21, it was one running: Apache/2.0.52 (Gentoo/Linux) Server at ftp.mozilla.org Port 80 Servertime of the there available Build [...]/CREATURE/mozilla-i586-pc-msvc.zip is still 21-Dec-2004 09:00 11M It was still anoying to get this Server when i try to get an new Build, have to reload the page some times with Ctrl-F5 and get another Server with actuall Builds. But sure, in Reply to Comment #1 there *are* actuall Builds.
Used servers are the (primary and secondary) official mirror servers, see http://www.mozilla.org/mirrors.html. I found the guilty one: http://mozilla.ussg.indiana.edu/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/ It is the Indiana primary server. All nightlies are from December 2004. The 1.8a6 release is also missing.

http://mozilla.ussg.indiana.edu/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/latest/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/tinderbox-builds/CREATURE/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/2005-01-14-10-trunk/ http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/ all are showing: Apache/2.0.52 (Gentoo/Linux) Server at ftp.mozilla.org Port 80 http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/2005-01-14-10-trunk/ had only the windows-xpi and linux-xpi-directory, no files. Descending into the windows-xpi-directory was showing the files expected there, but also a different footer: Apache/2.0.49 (Linux/SuSE) Server at ftp.mozilla.org Port 80 Going back was showing windows-xpi and linux-xpi-directory AND files as expected, and the footer changed from Apache/2.0.52 to the Apache/2.0.49 above. If this bug has been fixed more than 7 hours ago, why do I still see only files from dec 21th ? or that one, taken when Tinderbox shows tree: SeaMonkey (15:54 PST) Index of /pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/nightly/2005-01-14-10-trunk Icon Name Last modified Size Description [DIR] Parent Directory - [DIR] linux-xpi/ 14-Jan-2005 17:12 - [DIR] windows-xpi/ 14-Jan-2005 12:49 - Apache/2.0.52 (Unix) Server at ftp.mozilla.org Port 80

That is normal, eventually is ftp.mozilla.org only a pool of different mirror servers, which server depends on your DNS query (load balancing). All directories are up-to-date, do simply a refresh to reload. Most of the time you will then get a different server.
