Is the current version of FIREFOX 1.0 in need of these patches? I downloaded and
put the patches on my old 166mhz laptop. Seems to work both ways (50000 or 15000)
as he suggested. Suggest if patch is truly needed to fix download asap since most
will not go looking for Brians Livingston website. Plus, anyway to make read
mail option use my current OUTLOOK and not attempt to make one ADD MSN explorer
mail which is not wanted by most already installed email users.
Read Mail uses whatever the OS default mail client is. You might need to
double-check the settings.

The rest of this bug is incoherent and not particularly useful. Bugzilla is not

Mike Conners, your reply below did not answer my question. IS THE PATCHES NEEDED?
TRUE OR FALSE per what Brian Livingston website says
windowssecrets.com/041202
. As for adding OUTLOOK, the icon drag did not work into the toolbar. I guess I
will have to stay and vote for MSN I.E. since FIREFOX FAILED at this time.
Thanks and have a great day.
Patches are detailed by Brian Livingston. LINK=

ARE THE ABOVE PATCHES STILL NEEDED BY EACH USER? YES OR NO?

As for email, my default is MICROSOFT OUTLOOK. I AM UNABLE TO USE WITHIN FIREFOX.
OPTION READ MAIL ONLY GIVE ME MSN INTIAL SETUP WHICH IS INCORRECT. I also tried
dragging OUTLOOK icon into FIREFOX toolbar but this link will not work in FIREFOX.

False. The suggestions mentioned in the web page are performance tweaks. Firefox
has default settings to allow for good performance over a wide set of computer
configurations and platforms. This page suggests changing some of the values to
better suit your own computer.

Asa Dotzler has a more balenced explanation of what some of the changes do.
"... remember that most of the defaults are defaults for a reason. If your
browser starts misbehaving or web sites look broken, it might be worth going
back to default settings." http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/007164.html
