Details
When I manage identities I go into one of the sub-identities and try to change the position of the signature so that it is 'below my reply (above the quote)', but Thunderbird keeps reverting back to 'below the quote (recommended). My main identity is correct (i.e. above my reply).
I have exactly the same issue under v1.0 (20041206). When setting the signature position for an identity it will revert back to the default setting after clicking OK.

This works for me TB 1.0, Win2K.

The same here! This option simply can't be changed. This is the behaviour of all my identities :-/

I have the same issue with 1.0.2-1.4.1.centos4 (20050323) under Linux.

Note that I have not been able to reproduce the symptom described in this bug or the dupe -- where the setting is changed for secondary identities. However, I *can* reproduce bug 284058, where the setting is changed for the primary identity, but only when the identity is changed via the Manage Identities dialog. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 278453 ***
