Using any of the date links on the bottom of this page causes my pc to freeze
for 3 to 5 minutes.  It doesn't freeze up entirely, but it chugs like crazy, and
task manager shows firefox getting all the cpu time.

Update Macromedia Flash to the latest version and see if it fixes the problem
