I'm new to all of this stuff, but significantly motivated to report this very
critical problem: I downloaded Mozilla because I noticed that there was a
security problem with FireFox and I wanted the 1.7 version that would eliminate
that. It appears that my FireFox was upgraded by downloading Mozilla, but I
could be wrong. After the download and installation, everything seemed okay and
I left for a four day trip. As much as I hate it, I have a couple of places I am
forced to use IE. When I needed IE I found that it had been knocked out. I'm not
a very strong technical person, but it appeared to have been removed from my
computer. I was traveling at this very critical time with my notebook and this
problem cost me dearly. When I returned home to my cable connection I finally
learned how to turn IE back on. Much as I hate it, it should not be knocked out
without at least a warning to the downloader. In spite of any thinking to the
contrary, there are those who might try to sue for damages realized.
Don, how did you "turn IE back on"? I don't believe we have any logic in the
installer that disables IE or removes it; there is only the question about
whether you want to have Mozilla set as your default browser....
Are you sure you didn't just delete the shortcut to Internet Explorer?

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:

This "bug" was actually solved. I didn't know that Mozilla/FireFox would
disenable IE when I selected FireFox as my dominant web browser and I didn't
know how to turn IE back on. I do now. HOWEVER!!!! You have a *MAJOR* *BUG* that
I have reported on several times at 256452.

I have lost count how many web sites I cannot get into because of the so called
"Redirection Limit Exceeded."

Every time it happens now, I simply disregard it and go there from IE. There is
apparently no fix for FireFox. AND no interest in fixing it.

Back to the original bug and someone's question about how I turned IE back on.
You go to START/SETPROGRAM ACCESS AND DEFAULTS/ and then just select IE to be
"enabled." I still have FireFox as my default, but there are many times I must
revert to IE to do anything.
