Could you reattach the files encoded as UTF-8? You have to change the type manually to "text/html;charset=utf-8". You can drop the META element. fantasai, how about rel="translator"?

Wow, this is exciting. You'll have to give me a few days to sort out this one, my next 60 hours are booked solid. Yes, Anne, we need a rel="translator". :) I'll be sure to add it.

I've added localization support to the wrapper. victory -- can you translate the strings in devmo/lib/wrapper.tmpl and devmo/lib/sitemap.xml ? I also need to know a URL to put for contact info so I can add translator links similar to the author ones to credit you. (If you want to use a different name, I'll need that too.) Also, if there are any Japanese-specific changes you would like me to make to the style sheets, let me know.

fantasai, some pages already have those: <http://developer.mozilla.org/mozilla/index.ja.html> <link rel="translator" href="http://moz.rsz.jp/contact/" title="victory"> By the way, we should also fix this: <http://developer.mozilla.org/mozilla/index.ja> Is that because there is no "AddLanguage ja .ja"? The parser should also put something like the following HTML into pages that have translations: <link rel="alternate" lang="en" hreflang="ja" href="index.ja" title="{foo}">

> <link rel="translator" href="http://moz.rsz.jp/contact/" title="victory"> ok, I'll make sure the rest have them, too > By the way, we should also fix this: > <http://developer.mozilla.org/mozilla/index.ja>... No, we're not going to fix that. I have better plans for explicit language selection. justdave and I were poking around the server, though, and it seems we need to upgrade Apache first.

victory -- I've updated /about/meta to include a blurb on rel="translator" btw, do you want me to just mention updates here so you can translate them?

I don't know whether this is permanently or not, there's anon access as of the moment, and I can find updated files when I do cvs update. So you need not spend your time.

Changes committed to about/meta.ja.html and contribute/index.ja.html You should probably get yourself a CVS account, victory. Instructions are here: http://www.mozilla.org/hacking/getting-cvs-write-access.html You don't need to worry about super-review or ssh keys or other coding-specific things, but you do need to fill out the form and file a bug. (CC me on it, I'll vouch for you.) For an example, Anne's request was bug 258426.
