On some sites, user cannot open up another instance of the exact page they are
viewing, like URL - http://www.nwrealestate.com/nwrpub/index.cfm.
If user wants multiple windows (or tabs) open at the same time to view different
listings easily, they have to start from the beginning and enter in all of the
info again in each window. This is tedious and time consuming.

NOTE: In IE, user can click File --> New --> Window and open up the exact same
page in another window. This is very convenient so that user can open up
multiple listings at the same time without having to go through all of the steps
from the beginning for each one.

Another note:
http://www.homeplanfinder.com has disabled the right click menu in IE for each
house listed.
 - In IE, go to http://www.homeplanfinder.com, take the defaults, and click
"Search".
 - Right click on one of the listings (house picture). (No menu to open it up in
a new window.)
User can get around this in IE by clicking on File --> New --> Window.

On this URL only, this does not occur in FireFox (Yet).

There needs to be a way to create multiple instances of a particular page in
FireFox by selecting a menu item. Preferably, being able to open it up into a
new tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.nwrealestate.com/nwrpub/index.cfm.
2. Click on a county.
3. Select anything from the drop down list box, or leave it at the default
"Residential Single" and click on the "Search" button.
4. Select "Redmond" and enter in "500" for the max price (to get many listings
without maxing it out, which is limited to 250).
5. Click on the "Search" button.
6. Scroll to the bottom and click on the "Next 5" button.
7. Again, scroll to the bottom and click on the "Next 5" button.
8. Do one of the following:
   - Click File --> New Window
   - Click on "Bookmarks" --> "Bookmark This Page" --> click OK
9. If you Bookmarked the page, open a new tab, click "Bookmarks" --> click on
this bookmark you just made.
Actual Results:
User is taken back to the default page, not the page that was bookmarked.

If File --> New Window is selected, a new blank window is opened. Copying and
pasting the URL into the new blank window takes user back to default page
because the page specific info is not part of the URL.

Expected Results:
To be able to open up multiple tabs/windows with the exact same page by clicking
on a menu item.
This really isn't a tech evangelism bug. What you are asking is to modify
Firefox so that new pages load another copy of the currently displayed page the
same as IE does. Personally, I like that fact I can open new windows with my
home page (which is blank) rather than having the new window automatically
reload the currently viewed page.

Over to firefox general as a request for enhancement but I doubt they will approve.

Ok, that is a possibility but still qualifies as an enhancement and not a tech
evangelism bug. A tech evangelism bug is about helping a site fix problems in
their content, while an enhancement bug is a feature request for the brower. I
did not make a value judgement on the request, but simply moved it to the
appropriate component so it could be evaluated by those who make such decisions.

I don't know how helpful this feature would be and do not have an opinion
overall however I find that right click on links->open in new tab works for me
very well.

Please comment in this bug rather than send private email to the commenters.

Thanks.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/
Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html
Seamonkey: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/
Still occurs in Firefox 1.0.7.

An option added to the menu lists that opens a new tab to the same webpage the
user is on would be very convinient since many sites don't display the full path.

Making the user start from the beginning for every window they open, so they can
view multiple listings by just toggling between tabs, is very annoying and time
consuming, especially when users can go to the same site in IE and can do this.

It would have to be based on the actual webpage URL, not what is displayed in
the Address/Location bar.

New menu option:
"Open this page in a new tab."
This is stuff for an extension (if it doesn't allready exist)
