In safari, if you have several tabs open, and all the titles start with the same
thing (ex. "Apple Discussions:"), Safari gets rid of the similar part, so that
you can see the part that is different and more easily tell which one is which.

so, if you have tabs that say 
Apple Discussions: hi
Apple Discussions: hello
Apple Discussions: some mac issue
Apple Discussions: mac mini
Apple Discussions: ipod shuffle

then you could just see the hi, hello, etc on the tabs.


I think this would be a nice feature to see in Camino.

What if there is tab named "Apple Discussions"?
* I guess we should leave that one as is and shorten the others' name
* better ignore punctuation at the start of title suffixes...

Mass un-setting milestone per 1.6 roadmap.

Filter on RemoveRedonkulousBuglist to remove bugspam.

Developers: if you have a patch in hand for one of these bugs, you may pull the bug back to 1.6 *at that point*.

Seeing this in action, I think it's less appealing, or at least Safari's implementation is.

It's great, or at least good, in the comment 0 case, but when you start turning

Safari - Wikipedia

Camino (disambiguation) - Wikipedia

into

Wikipedia
(web browser) - Wikipedia
Wikipedia
(disambiguation) - Wikipedia

is decidedly less useful, and sometimes downright odd.

Getting the right algorithm is going to be difficult.

This bug has been buried in the graveyard and has not been updated in over 5 years. It is probably safe to assume that it will never be fixed, so resolving as WONTFIX.
