After attaching a file that was mounted over the network, if I create a message
and then click on attach on a machine that does not have access to the same
machine as previous attach operation, thunderbird hangs. no attach window ever
comes up and I  have to kill the application. No success even after reboot,
reintsall, etc. Had to finally edit the prefs.js file in my document and
settings folder and get rid of any lines that mention the networked folder!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. attach a file that resides on another machine (i.e. \\192.168.1.1\folder\a.txt)
2. run the application on a machine that cannot access the \\192.168.1.1 machine
3. compose message and click on attach button. Thunderbird hangs.

Actual Results:  
Hangs thunderbird application

Expected Results:  
it should have timed out and presented a local default directory that can be
accessed
