Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Prior to installing Firefox 1.0PR, I could select "Preview/Debug in Browser" using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, choose Firefox, and the browser would load my page in a new window. Now however, Firefox simply sits minimized on the taskbar if there was an instance of Firefox already running. I have to click it to open it. While I agree this is not a reason to call out the National Guard, it does ad an extra step each time I need to preview my work. Netscape, Mozilla, and IE pop a new window as did Firefox 0.9, 0.8, etc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an instance of Firefox. 2. Add Firefox to Dreamweaver's Browser list. Choose Site, open an HTML file for editing. 3. Click "Preview/Debug in Browser" dropdown list, choose Firefox. Actual Results: The page to be viewed sits on the taskbar, minimized Expected Results: Firefox should have poped a new window, or at least poped the existing instance. I am using the default theme
1.0PR is a pre-release version. Can you please test again with at least "1.0 release"?
> 1.0PR is a pre-release version. > Can you please test again with at least "1.0 release"? My bad, I thought PR meant "Public Release". I am currently using the "1.0 release"; The newest release from http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox&os=win&lang=en-US Here is the info from the "About Splash Screen": Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I also tested this issue using "1.0RC2", with the same results.
worksforme 1) Use MX 2004 2) Open Firefox, minimize it 3) Press ctrl-f12, firefox gets focus and shows the page You can also skip step 2, and step 3 will still happen. Can't reproduce your problem. Am i missing something?

If Firefox was the only Browser I used to verify my designs, then I would not
have bothered to post this bug. However, I have 6 browsers listed in
Dreamweaver. Only one can be listed as "Primary", and only one can be opened
with "F12". Yes, I have Firefox as the Primary Browser, and yes I can hit "F12"
allowing Firefox to get the focus, and pop a new window. But this does not
resolve the bug.
If you use your mouse to select Firefox from Dreamweaver's dropdown list, the
Browser still sits on the taskbar until clicked. All other Browsers selected in
this way pop a new window showing the page revisions.

Sorry, still can't reproduce...

Interesting... I can reproduce it every time. Perhaps it is a bug specific to my
machine. See specs below:
CPU - AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Barton Core (39°c idle - 53°c load)
MB - AN7, BIOS v15
RAM - Corsair 1GB pc3200 VS, 2 x 512
Video - PNY 128MB GeForce4 Ti4400
PSU - Allied 500W, Dual Fans
Sound - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Monitor - NEC MultiSync FE950+ (19” CRT – 1280/1024)
HD - 80GB 7200rpm WD; 40GB 7200rpm WD (backup)
Disk Drives - 52x32x52 CD-RW; 52x CD-ROM
Fans - 1 80mm rear exhaust
OS - Windows XP Pro, SP2 (Including all subsequent updates)
Internet Access – DSL, 1.5MB down/1MB up (T1)
ZoneAlarm is always running, but I have tested this issue with it shut down.
Nothing else runs in the system tray, except sound & time.
Even Netscape 4.79 pops a new window (stealing focus) using the mouse to preview
a page in Dreamweaver... although I have given up attempting to design for that
browser.
(In reply to comment #6) your specs outperform my pathetic machine by a factor of 3 on nearly every item :o [when are those G5 powerbooks gonna come?!] Anyway, it hardly seems spec. specific thing.... I only check for Mozilla Suite [not firefox] as the rendering is pretty much the same, but Mozilla has more developer tools, so i can't say if the problem is built-specific. But judging from your comment 0 it may very well be. I'm using a nightly Firefox from Jan 14 2005. Does it make a difference on your machine if you use a more recent build? [maybe it was just temporarily broken]

What I have noticed, is that this issue did not exist in versions 0.9 & 0.8
I installed the nightly build for Jan 19, 2005, and the problem disappeared.
Thank You!! However, I could no longer get the browser to open a link from an
email. So I installed a build from Jan 14th, and all seems to be well. I think
I'll hold here.
I appreciate your time, and effort. It has paid off. Well done!
