It would be nice to have a document which contained the best practices on
everything from bug entry to configuration. The document should contain examples
of how different people use certain features and why they are important.

I think this is a great idea. It would be nice if people could drop in a few examples of what they think the best practices are. Compiling them and submitting a patch would not be hard after that. I would volunteer to put the ideas together if people could add a few hints/tricks here...

I would volunteer two things that a lot of newcomers overlook:

1. saved searches:
    recently changed
    things i need to qa
    things i have not touched in a while

2. The use of the bookmarkable templates
    bug 319718 made this even easier for newbies...

This bug is not specific enough to be actionable, and the docs have changed a lot since it was filed. If there are specific suggestions, please file new bugs.
