This isn't possible unless the html is changed to make it so. This isn't a moz issue but a feature you want from mapquest.

Phil what IE does is a bit sneaky. It appears as if it's not reloading the page while it actually is. You can see by looking at the progress bar. What it does is wait for all the data comming in and the quickly updating the page while you are kept there thinking it only updates the image while in fact it updates the whole page. As I said nothing can be changed, mapquest is set up like this. The controls are link to other pages and that's it.
