When 60 col summary column is selected, it frequently has inadequate information
(too few characters). When Full summary is selected, any single long string of
non-whitespace characters causes horizontal scroll. So, you can select to
display both summary columns, but then the column that causes wrap anyway is to
the left, so nothing is solved. Moving the short summary left of the full
summary would make a better viewport fit when both summaries are in the report.

My opinion is that we should have a radio button to choose either the short
description limited to 60 characters *or* the full summary. I don't see in which
cases you could be interested in having them both displayed at the same time!
Then this bug would be "wontfix".

I thought of this while formulating bug 279153. My original comment was intended
to show that having both summaries in the list could be a useful workaround for
horizontal scrolling, and I expect someone else already thought so or there
would already be radio buttons for summary selection.

I think we should get rid of the truncated summary column and provide a
parameter to control truncation of all columns.

Per comment 4 and comment 6, we don't want to display both columns and so we won't fix this bug.

Unless via radio buttons it is made impossible to open both summary columns, this still needs to be fixed. Did anyone file a bug to get that done? Unless and until that is done, what's the big deal with a simple column switch here?
